  1. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit Missions (Acts 1:8). He chooses, sends and empowers missionaries who will fulfill the plan of God in preaching the gospel of the Kingdom (salvation) to the nations of the earth boldly and not being ashamed  (Rom. 1:16).
  2. The word “missionary” means someone who is sent by God with a mission to carry the gospel of the Kingdom into the world (Matt. 24:14; 28:18-19).  It’s the same word from which we get the New Testament office of apostle. In reality, all followers of Christ are missionaries of some sort.  As someone once put it, you are a full-time minister (missionary) disguised as a doctor, lawyer, teacher, stay-at-home mother, etc.  If you do not consider yourself a missionary, then you are a mission field!  Yes, all followers of Christ are missionaries but not necessarily apostles. “We have eternity to enjoy our rewards, we only have a moment to earn them.”  By:  wise missionary
  1. Abraham was the first missionary in the Bible – Genesis 12:1 This is what it means to be a missionary – to step out in faith in obedience to God’s call and go to the place He shows us with a mission.
  1. Jesus himself is a missionary, sent by the Father, coming to earth in human form to perform his most elaborate mission of redemption- John 3:16; Psalm 40:7-8
  1. New Testaments missionaries were church-based – Acts 13:1-12 Barnabas and Paul were called  (verse 2),  sent  (verse 4) by the Holy Spirit and filled (verse 9) with the Holy Spirit (completely yielded).
  1. Spirit of Missions must continually be within us as JIA church. The mission of Jesus must be our mission.  John 20:21;  2 Cor. 5:17, 20.  (missionaries have a new life, new master and position, new purpose)

Our mission field is :  Acts 1:8; 8:1; Matt. 28:18-19; 24:14

“The supreme task of the Church is the evangelization of the world.”

“ No one has the right to hear the gospel twice, while there remains someone who has not heard it once.” By: Oswald J. Smith

  1. Like Abraham God is calling, sending and blessing us to be a blessing to all the families of the earth with His favor and protection. Genesis 12:2-3;  John 15:16
