Pastor Stephen Prado –Lead Pastor, Jesus is Alive CMNV Monumento
KEY VERSE:
Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
INTRODUCTION
- We are not just called to BE disciples but to MAKE
- Being a disciple is not easy. Real disciples embrace the hardships for Christ
- Because of the Great Commission, God called us to do more than just inviting people to church. We are called to Make Disciples.
THE VISION TO REACH THE STREETS
- A compelling vision provides guidance. A vision is like a dream IF it was not shared and accepted.
- Great leaders are visionary. Vision is a picture in the leader’s imagination. Using a compelling communication, passion and clarity, it can make a huge impact.
- If we cannot communicate it, we cannot make it a reality
- The mandate is to populate heaven
- A shared vision is a shared burden
EQUIPPING OTHERS TO GO OUT IN THE STREETS
- The vision and mission is clear in Matthew 28:18-20, but the strategy or method is not
- 2 Timothy 2:2 –The pace of our leadership development determines the pace of our growth
- When a ministry plateaus, God is telling you that you’ve reach the limit of what He has empowered you to do by yourself.
- Moving from doing to delegating –not dumping
- God commands us to spread the gospel and teach them to obey what God has commanded us.
- Identifying leadership potential –Nobody identifies the leadership that David has. The father missed it, the brothers missed it, the prophet missed it.
- All leaders are disciples but not all disciples are leaders
THE GROWTH OF GETTING OUT IN THE STREETS
- Health is attached to growth and God expects us to grow.
- The challenge to launch out into the deep
- Luke 5:4 Now when he had ceased speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.
Reminder: We might be fishing on shallow waters.
- We grow when our sacrifice grows
Philippians 1:4 And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear
As a result of Paul’s suffering, the other believers are becoming bolder and more courageous to proclaim the gospel. Discipleship is self-denial and sacrifice honors God.
CONCLUSION:
Jude 1:23 “save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear–hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.”
- It’s not about what we have received but about how we respond.
- God’s way of reaching people is through people.
